PAC defers decision to take NAB's briefing over underway cases

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Public Accounts Committee on Monday has deferred its decision to take briefing from National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

According to details, National Assembly Secretariat has also issued a notification to NAB deferring his decision to take briefing over 168 underway cases.

It is pertinent here to mention that the second PAC meeting was scheduled to take place today (Monday) at 2:30pm.

Earlier, on December 28,PAC had summoned details of cases sent to NAB and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the past.

The first meeting of PAC was held in Islamabad with Opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif in chair.

“We will try to work as per law through teamwork. PAC is not a forum to broadcast news on media. NAB should provide details of the cases to the committee until Tuesday (January 1, 2019),” Sharif had said.

“Cases related to New Islamabad Airport are yet with NAB,” Sherry Rehmanhad said, following which Sharif asked for an explanation from the accountability watchdog.

Sheikh Rohail Asghar questioned whether NAB and FIA will present the record of cases. “They are quite active nowadays,” Sharif had replied.
